Honest & Fair

Today the girls earned their Honest & Fair petal.  We started out with Mrs. Kollasch passing out the snack and asking if it was fair if she gave only her daughter all of the Goldfish, if it was fair if she gave only the girls in Mrs. Beltmann's class the snack, or if it was fair if just one table got it.  They all agreed NO!  As they were eating, I read this cute story about a little girl (ok, fox) who finds something that is not hers and she tells a lie and says that it is hers, when it really belonged to her friend.  She felt awful about lying and when she did tell the truth, nobody was mad at her and she felt much better.  I also asked questions if they thought some of these statements were fair or unfair...
*your brother or sister takes all of the cookies on the plate -unfair
*your friend gets 10 minutes on the swing and you only get 5 minutes - unfair
We talked about when playing a game that you should be fair and not cheat.
We then went on an egg hunt.  They were told they could find 4 eggs.
On your mark, get set, go...

I told my daughter to find 5 eggs, having 1 girl with only 3 eggs.  I said, is that fair that she got 5 eggs?  Nooooo!  I told them not to be mad at Olivia, that I told her to grab 5 eggs to show an example of being unfair.  The other girl was given the 4th egg.  :)
We then went back inside and did an Easter craft.  They colored their eggs and glued the chick in their egg.
Here is some of their artwork...
