Girl Scout SWAPS

I am really excited about this!  SWAPS!  This is something fun that Girl Scouts do.  Girls make little trinket type gifts that they exchange with girls in another troop.  They usually put them on hats, bags, lanyards, a trinket box or hang on felt.  Can you imagine keeping all these from when you were a Daisy and looking back on them when you are older? This is going to be our project for earning the violet petal- Be a sister to every Girl Scout. There is a facebook page dedicated to GS SWAPS and I have met this lady who is a Daisy leader of 18 girls too.  They are from Vermont.  Their troop has not done SWAPS yet either and would like to start and swap with our troop.  We will include a photo of our troop along with a postcard from our state.  How fun to learn about another Daisy troop in another state!
I have not planned this into a meeting, since we are kinda booked for the rest of this school year, so, this will be a take home project for the girls to complete and bring back to me so I can mail them out.  She will be given all the supplies and directions to make them.  They are very simple but, will probably require some help from you.  I will post a picture of the finished project so they can see what it looks like.

Just an example of what SWAPS look like and how they can be displayed.  Maybe next year we will work on something to hold our SWAPS.  :)
