Girl Scouts turn 100 on March 12, 2012

Juliette Low made a call to a friend, saying “I’ve got something for the girls of Savannah, and all of America, and all the world, and we’re
going to start it tonight!” On March 12, 1912, 18 girls gathered at her home in Savannah, Georgia and the first Girl Scout Troop in the USA was
formed.

How awesome that our meeting falls exactly on the anniversary date of when Girl Scouts was started and with the same number of girls!  I will be sending home a coloring sheet with a little poem and a birthday candle for the girls to CELEBRATE Girl Scouts turning 100!
