October 1st meeting (Financial Literacy Leaves & Birthday Bags)

Today we worked on earning our Financial Literacy Leaves.  We talked about the upcoming Nut Sale and money {coins}.  They each got to pick up the different coins and we read a poem about each one and how to identify them.  They did bring home a few worksheets if you have time to go over that with them.  We also talked about wants and needs.  Do you need clothes?  YES!  Do you need a video game?  NO!  We also discussed if certain activities were free or if they cost money.  Going to the library-free.  Going to the movies-cost money.  They also received a coin book that they are able to fill with pennies, etc.  I told them to fill it up and tell me at the next meeting if anybody was able to fill theirs up.  They can do chores to help earn money.  It was just something fun for them to have!  :-)

They decorated bags for the food pantry's birthday bags.  They also learned The Banana Song.  Ask them about it.  There are movements to go with the song.  It was FUN!
{I was able to snap some pictures today-YAY!}

 That is my other daughter in the picture in case you were wondering.  My husband picks her up during snack time.  Hopefully, she'll have her own Daisy troop here soon.  (crossing fingers)

 Here are the bags that the girls decorated with drawings and stickers.  They did both sides of the bag.
 Nice job girls!

 Singing The Banana Song.
 GOING BANANAS!!!

The closing song.  Make new friends...
